Fennel brings the refreshing flavors, carrots – the substance, and the addition of dried sour cherries is… well, the cherry on top!

Fennel and Carrots In My Garden
These ingredients are available nearly year round, but we particularly enjoy their crisp freshness with our favorite grilled dishes.
For this reason I tried growing them in a small area in my yard. I am new to gardening but I can’t express the joy I felt to see these beautiful, sometimes expensive vegetables grow with little care right in my own yard.

Ingredients Needed
- Fennel
- Carrots
- Parsley
- Salt
- Garlic
- Sesame seeds
- Lemon juice
- Olive oil
- Dried sour cherries

- Garlic press

Ingredients
Fennel – 2 cups, chopped into thin slivers
Carrots – 2 cups, chopped into thin slivers
Parsley – 2 tablespoons, freshly chopped
Salt – 1 teaspoon
Garlic – 1 clove, pressed
Sesame Seeds – 2 tablespoons
Lemon Juice – 1 tablespoon
Olive oil – 1 tablespoon
Dried sour cherries – 2 tablespoons
Directions
- Add all the ingredients except the cherries. Toss well.
- Just before serving add cherries and toss once again.
