You might know by now, that I’m a feen for popsicles of all seasons and all reasons, so here are 7 of my favorite must-have popsicle recipes.

Popsicles For Kids And The Kid In Us Adults
What’s not to love about homemade popsicles! Having gained popularity over the years from the sugar/water dyed popsicles of years ago, they have become a multi-ingredient, homemade refreshing delight.
Not only do popsicles offer refreshing coolness on hot summer days and evoke childhood nostalgia, but they can be made as treats for both kids and adults.
They offer a wide variety of flavors, catering to different tastes, and can even be a comforting aid when feeling sick.
Popsicles Were Originally An Accident
Back in 1905, an 11-year old boy named Frank Epperson, left a mixture of soda powder and water with a stirring stick in it, outside overnight in the winter.
Discovering his delicious frozen mixture the next morning, he called it ‘Epsicle’ which later rights were sold to the Joe Lowe Company and became ‘Popsicle’!
Homemade Popsicles Are So Easy To Make
Once you own a popsicle mold, and trust me, they are not expensive, you will be making frozen popsicles all summer long!
If you don’t own a popsicle mold yet, no worries, we can do this the old fashioned way, just like Frank Epperson’s accidental popsicle, with disposable paper cups and sticks.
Place the popsicle mixture into the cups, freeze just to the freezing point, make a small slit in the center and slide the wooden popsicle sticks in.
The popsicle will continue to freeze with the stick in the center of the pop.

Adult Cocktail Party Popsicles
It doesn’t get any more Southern than Creamy Peach Pecan Bourbon Popsicles with pecan praline added to this boozy adult peach popsicle.
With just a sprinkle of sugar and the natural sugar in sweet fruits, a caramel can be made in minutes on top the stove. That’s how these peach popsicles started.
Add a little bourbon to the caramelized peaches and things are beginning to head south, and I mean that in a delicious way!

Healthy Cream Ingredients In A Popsicle Recipe
Creamy, can mean different things to each of us, and so let’s look at a few options other than full fat dairy cream, options that make our popsicles healthier.
Using yogurt, full fat or low fat, will not only make popsicles creamy but the added tartness that comes when milk is fermented into yogurt naturally, offers additional flavor and lots of health properties.
However, there are other options for those of us who at times prefer a non-dairy yogurt or milk.
So by all means use your favorite non-dairy yogurt, or try my homemade almond milk, which only uses 2-ingredients to make and is a definite must-have technique if you love nut, seed or grain milks.

Mocha Latte Popsicles For The Caffeine
If you must-have that afternoon caffeine pick-me-up, but it’s 90 degrees outside, then by all means have these Mocha Latte Popsicles tucked in your freezer!
Oh yes, sometimes we want a dessert and an adult sip all at the same time, and these popsicles satisfy both desires.
Add a little coffee liqueur or chocolate liqueur to this mocha latte mix and freeze in the popsicle molds.
What a perfect dessert cocktail at the end of a long day, or a fun treat for an afternoon ladies luncheon!

Summer Caffeine Boost
My favorite afternoon caffeine boost is a strong cup of coffee and a few moments to myself to regroup for what the day has in store for me.
However, a summertime afternoon boost needs caffeine and something to cool me off.
An iced mocha latte is something you can never go wrong with. But, it takes time. Time to brew, cool, and get iced.
That’s when I decided to make a huge batch of Mocha Latte Popsicles, and have them waiting for me in the freezer!

To-Go Healthy Popsicles
If you are a smoothie must-have person or prefer a creamy fruit cup to eat your nutrients rather than sip them, then a Blueberry Yogurt Frozen Popsicle is a perfect to-go healthy treat.
Out on your patio, poolside or running a few errands, put one of these upside down in a cup and head on our with your healthy popsicle/snack.
With only 4-ingredients, blueberries (or any berry), yogurt (or any dairy-free substitute), lemon and agave, these are easy to make and serve.

Blueberry Popsicles Are A Must-Have
Can you think of a more versatile fruit year-round than blueberries? Sweet, tart, loaded with vitamins and antioxidants.
Blueberries are the perfect fruit to quickly turn into a compote. Easy to use in a variety of pies, tarts and scones but definitely right at home in a popsicle.
Plopping a handful into your morning yogurt or smoothie is simply a healthy way to get the day off to a great start, so why not freeze a batch in individual portions for busy days on the go.
Summertime Berries
How timely that blueberry season arrives right around the celebration time of Independence day.
You will see blueberries in more desserts for 4th of July than any other fruit.
Second, of course, will be any of the red fruits, such as watermelon, strawberries and raspberries.
So, why not create a patriotic treat, with yogurt and blueberries!
Blueberry and yogurt popsicles are easy to make, so tuck them away in the freezer for the long lazy days of summer.

What Would Summer Be Without A Watermelon Popsicle!
Can you think of a more refreshing fruit in summer than watermelon? Sweet, juicy and loaded with vitamins.
Watermelon is the perfect hydration for a hot summer day, something we will be in want of from Memorial Day, right through Labor Day.
Watermelon Popsicles are an easy way to enjoy watermelon all summer long.

How To Make Summertime Watermelon Popsicles
- First – pick a really ripe watermelon from a farmer’s market or grocery store. Tap the watermelon for a deep hollow sound.
- Second – cut the fruit from the rind. Many cultures will pickle the rinds. Pick seeds out, if any, before crushing the fruit.
- Third – place the chopped watermelon and a drizzle of honey into a food processor or blender. Puree.
- Last – transfer the watermelon puree into popsicle molds, or disposable cups, sticks in, and freeze.
- Storing – once the popsicles are frozen solid, remove and store in a freezer bag, freeing up the mold to make more.
- Notes – if using disposable cups and wooden sticks, place the popsicle mixture into the cups, freeze just the freezing points, make a small slit in the center and slide the wooden popsicle sticks in, so it continues to freeze with the stick in the center of the pop.
Raspberry Herbal Tea Popsicles
Raspberry tea, isn’t that just fruit juice?
Nope! Leaves of the raspberry plant, when simmered in water, makes for a very healthful tea, which makes these a definite ‘must-have’ popsicle.
Healthy tea made with leaves from the raspberry plant along with a little of the raspberry fruit, makes for a delicious tea with lots of healthful properties, especially for women.
Raspberry Tea Popsicles For Women’s Health
No, I wasn’t a hippie back in the 60’s, but yes I was fascinated with natural, organic health care.
Raspberry leaves contain a plant alkaloid known as fragerine, as well as a natural astringent, which has been known to aid in uterus health.
These properties help to relax over tense uterus muscles. This aid can be helpful in childbearing, or simply menstrual cramping.
This Raspberry Tea Popsicle recipe is best made during July when raspberries and their leaves are ripe for picking. Make, freeze and store in the freezer for the months that lie ahead.

Comfort A Cold Or Flu Popsicle
Comfort a cold Wellness Popsicles are all about the citrus, ginger, chili peppers, honey, herbs and maybe a little booze to comfort throat and cough, naturally.
Ancient remedies have often been a staple for me ever since I was a teen, always in search of natural ways to be healthy and stay that way.
Once this concoction of powerful fresh ingredients is whisked into a health mixture, it gets frozen into individual portions in popsicle molds then transferred to a storage container when need arises.
Popsicles In Winter?
Don’t put those popsicle makers away at summer’s end!
Cold, Flu and Allergy season makes this the perfect time of year to make something icy cold to relieve a dry, scratchy, sore throat.
Out of necessity, I created this recipe because my own throat was feeling miserable.
I can’t express how comforting it was to suck on these frozen, spicy hot, ginger, lemon, honey, herb popsicles.
Make them now and tuck them away in the freezer for yourself or a loved one, for all that could ail you in the months up ahead.

Edible Lavender Flowers In A Popsicle
Watching the bees dart to and fro from my lavender flowers, is what first inspired these Lavender Blueberry Popsicles.
Those bees worked tirelessly to extract the essence of flowers, and so I wanted a floral and honey popsicle for its delicate flavor, supported by the depth of blueberries for both texture and color.
Making Lavender And Blueberry Popsicles
Making these popsicles couldn’t be easier.
There is nothing to cook and all you will need is a blender or food processor, some popsicle molds and patience while they freeze overnight.
Toss everything into the blender, give it a whirl until the berries puree, pour it into popsicle molds.
The next day, you will have beautiful purple popsicles, loaded with nutrients and flavor.
