Great American Home Cooking Recipes
The series gives talented home cooks, from different regions of the country, the opportunity to showcase traditional dishes passed down through their heritage and family.
While this is a competition, it is so much more. Ten home cooks bring to The Great American Kitchen the desire to tell each of our own stories.
Judging This PBS Series
You truly can’t judge anyone on this aspect of a competition, it’s a personal expression we each will share. The judges can, however, judge us on the execution of those recipes and how well we hold up throughout the filming of an 8-series filming project.
And so, the ten of us simply hunkered down, became friends that had each other’s back all the way through. We have remained friends since the program was filmed and each of us knows for certain, that we each won! We were each true to our heritage and that makes us winners.
The judges in this program are Leah Cohen, Tiffany Derry and Graham Elliot. The program is hosted by Alejandra Ramos.
Each of the judges and the host were amazing to work with and expressed sincere mentoring to each of us; both on and off camera.
Robin Daumit Is In The Great American Recipe!
Sometimes in life, something extraordinary just falls into your lap. Almost as though someone was waving a magic wand on your behalf.
I received a message through a social media platform, to toss my hat into the ring and get on the show. I thought it was a scam. It was not!
The stories, the recipes, the laughter and tears that I will share with America on national television are something I never thought would become part of my life’s story.
It is, and now I want to share it with you.

Who’d a thought we’d be cooking in a barn! Well we did and it was a newly built barn too!
At The Barns at Mattaponi Springs, near Ruther Glen Virginia, this barn was built. The magnificent property is skirted by a lake and a fishing pond, and backed up to a PGA golf course.
Each morning that we filmed, after COVID testing was done, sound and mics wired to us, our aprons went on and we knew the day would be an adventure.
The kitchens, all ten of them, that had been created just for us, were fun, brightly colored with splashes of turquoise and had almost everything we would need in them. Almost (wink).

The program will air on PBS every Friday, starting June 24th until the finale on August 12, at 9:00 pm EST.
