BRIDAL LEMONADE COCKTAIL – THE LULU LEMON

by | Cocktails, Drinks

Homemade lemonade, champagne, a splash of vodka and lots of ice make this cocktail the most sought after bridal cocktail!

Lemonade Cocktail

Oh… Do I have a fabulous summertime cocktail for you, made with Homemade Lemonade! My niece is an event and wedding planner for her family’s catering company. She created the most amazing refreshing cocktail for the, sometimes, hot headed brides. Now, she says during wedding season, this is her most popular cocktail! She named it The Lulu Lemon after herself, Lauren Upton!

The Bride’s Cocktail

Why? What makes this cocktail so desired by brides? Well, first of all it’s light and refreshing, with lemon and mint. But also, a bride knows she must remain poised throughout her reception and this cocktail has that little bite she wants from a splash of vodka but it really is kind of watered down from the lemonade and lots of ice. Definitely a good idea to keep the bride from getting tipsy too early in the evening. But then, there’s champagne and let’s face it, every bride thinks of champagne as her special drink of the day. Not to forget that this drink will not stain her dress should a little spill! (wink)

Why Make Homemade Lemonade?

Lemons are often in abundance during the summer months so what better time to make your own fresh, healthy, cost affective lemonade! The oil in the lemon zest alone makes for a richer lemon flavor for a fabulous lemonade.

Lemonade And Mint

No sip is more refreshing than lemons and mint. Muddle a few mint leaves and allow them to steep in the lemon/sugar simple syrup, remove the leaves after 15 minutes and you have the bright and refreshing mint flavor without the leaves floating around your drink.

In my family, I’ve always been known as the ‘Muffin Queen’. Out of necessity, I created muffins for breakfast, lunch, on the go snacks, sometimes dinner and a sweet yet healthyish treat for dessert!
