Bridal Lemonade Cocktail from a Top Event Planner shares their Secret about this recipe of lemonade, champagne, a splash of vodka and lots of ice for their hot day!
The Bride’s Cocktail Secret
What makes this cocktail so desired by brides?
Well, first of all it’s light and refreshing, with lemon and mint.
The stress of every bride requires a hydrating sip to calm and cool.
But on the other hand, a bride knows that while she must remain poised throughout her reception, she too wants a bit of a buzz without losing her cool.
Not too much booze, because it really is just a Healthy Lemonade with just a splash champagne’s fun.
Remembering also, that this drink will not stain her dress should a little spill! (wink)
Lemonade Cocktail
Oh, do I have a fabulous summertime cocktail for you, made with Homemade Lemonade!
An important health factor for a woman on her bridal day, is the need to remain hydrated. Often with nerves, and much on her mind, she will forget to replenish herself.
Similarly, like kids on a busy summer day, playing and forgetting to hydrate, became the reason I created a refreshing, hydrating Strawberry Lemon Popsicle.
The kids don’t realize the popsicle is for their health, but mama does, and such is the same for our little girls on their wedding day.
Bridal Event Planner Secrets
My niece is an event and wedding planner for her family’s catering company.
She created the most amazing refreshing cocktail for the sometimes, hot headed brides.
Now, she says, during wedding season, this is her most popular cocktail; and so she named it The Lulu Lemon, after herself, Lauren Upton!
A family owned and operated Event Planning Catering Company, for over 45-years, this company has won all the accolades, year after year.
For this reason alone, they have a treasure chest filled with secrets that simply makes them the best!
Lemonade Bridal Sips For A Martha Stewart Wedding
It was the spring of 2004, in Annapolis Maryland, in which a lovely wedding for an employee of Martha Stewart was being held, at the historic Charles Carroll House.
I know, because I worked that wedding reception with my family’s catering company, Ken’s Creative Kitchen.
I was surprised at the drink chosen to serve the guests as they arrived – Lemonade!
This event was photographed and in the wedding issue of the Martha Stewart magazine!
Cocktails For Brides
Back in the day, when I was growing up, there was no such thing as a ‘bride cocktail’.
The popular drink that was served at a wedding, was champagne.
Life has changed since those days, and many a bride likes to have her own unique cocktail created for her special day.
For a stunning springtime cocktail, I created a Cherry Blossom Bridal Cocktail, made with sake, since I often think of ‘sakura’ when I think of cherry blossoms.
Equally special is an autumn wedding, and for my autumn brides I’ve created the Blue Moon Cocktail which has an interesting story about full moons!
Why Make Homemade Lemonade?
Lemons are often in abundance during the summer months so what better time to make your own fresh, healthy, cost effective lemonade!
The oil in the lemon zest alone makes for a richer lemon flavor for a fabulous lemonade.
Mixing up a homemade lemonade, allows you to choose the type of sweetener you want, and once it’s made, it is easily frozen and stored for a later time.
Lemonade And Mint
No sip is more refreshing than lemons and mint.
Muddle a few mint leaves and allow them to steep in the lemon/sugar simple syrup.
Remove the mint after 15 minutes, and you have the bright and refreshing mint flavor without the leaves floating around your drink.
For an even quicker refreshing sip on a hot summer day, or an aid to a winter’s upset tummy, a Sparkling Mint Water might be just what you need.
