Ever peel off a huge leaf of cabbage and imagine using it as a bowl? It’s almost whimsical looking. This quick and refreshing salad was created simply to turn these lovely cabbage leaves into a bowl!

Enjoy as a side dish, or toss a little cooked shrimp or meat into the salad and you have a perfect lunch!

Cabbage & Apple Salad Ingredients

Serves 4

  • 2 apples, shredded (it is fine to leave skins on)
  • 3 cups cabbage, shredded
  • 1 cup walnuts, chopped
  • ¾ cup raisins
  • salt & pepper to taste
  • juice of 1 lemon
  • 2 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 tablespoon vinegar, preferable apple cider
  • 1 tablespoon mustard (any type you prefer)



In a bowl, toss the cabbage, apples, walnuts, seasoning, and raisins together. In a small cup mix the lemon juice, oil, vinegar, and mustard together. Add to salad and toss to coat.

Ready to serve this delicious meal!
